BONKO – Fruit-Flavored Drink Animation Ad (2018)

🍓 Concept: Fun & Fruity

BONKO is a fruit-scented drink brand for children. The brief was clear: communicate fun, refreshment, and imagination.

To bring this to life, I developed a colorful world called BONKO Land, where three main characters go on playful adventures in a fruit-themed amusement park. Each scene was designed to highlight the drink’s fruity identity while keeping the story lively and emotionally engaging for young audiences.


🎨 Design Direction

Since the ad was meant for international release, I chose a Western cartoon style that would feel familiar and accessible to global viewers.

The design emphasized:

  • Bold, expressive character shapes

  • Vibrant color palettes to capture attention

  • Elements like fruit slides, juice fountains, and splashy skies — turning BONKO Land into a sensory playground


🎵 Sound & Music

Sound played a key role in bringing out the fantasy and energy of the story. I wanted music that felt playful yet sophisticated — full of layered instrumentation but with a rhythm that children could instantly enjoy.

So we invited Khun Kritti Hancharoenwanaphusit (Pete), guitarist from the band Pancake, to compose the soundtrack. His work added just the right mix of joy, surprise, and sparkle to bring BONKO Land to life.


📢 Beyond the Screen

In addition to the animated ad, we created a set of 4 promotional posters featuring key scenes and characters from the animation. These were used for both online and offline publicity, helping to strengthen brand recall and extend the world of BONKO beyond the video.
